Snake IO is a free multiplayer take on the classic snake formula, played in a large shared arena against other players. You grow by eating pellets and by consuming the remains of snakes that crash, and any collision with another snake's body eliminates you instantly.

The multiplayer twist changes the strategy completely. In classic snake your only enemy is your own tail; here the main threat is other players, and the main opportunity is causing them to crash. Cutting in front of a larger snake so that it runs into you is the core aggressive play, and it works regardless of size difference — which means a small snake can eliminate a huge one and inherit its remains.

That makes size a liability as well as an asset. Long snakes control more space but turn more slowly and have far more body to avoid, so the largest snake in a lobby is frequently not the one that survives longest. Playing the edges early and moving to the centre only once you have mass is the standard progression.

Steer your snake around the arena, eating pellets to grow longer. Cut in front of other snakes so they collide with your body, which eliminates them and leaves remains you can consume. Avoid running into any other snake's body — doing so eliminates you regardless of your size.
