About Hill Climb
Hill Climb is a free physics driving game in which you push a vehicle as far as possible across bumpy, hilly terrain while managing fuel and avoiding flipping over. Coins collected along the route pay for upgrades to your engine, suspension, tyres and fuel tank, which is how distance is actually extended.
There are two games running at once. In the short term you are balancing the vehicle — throttle pitches the nose up, brake pitches it down, and landing on your roof ends the run. In the long term you are running an upgrade economy, because the terrain quickly outpaces what a stock vehicle can handle no matter how well you drive.
Fuel is the real timer. Cans are scattered along the route and you burn fuel whenever the throttle is open, so a run is a series of decisions about whether the next can is reachable at your current speed. Upgrading the fuel tank early tends to unlock more distance than upgrading the engine, because raw power without range just gets you stranded further out.
How to play Hill Climb
Use the accelerator and brake to drive right across the terrain. Balance the vehicle in mid-air with the same two controls — throttle rotates you backwards, brake rotates you forwards. Collect coins to spend on upgrades and fuel cans to keep going. Landing on the driver's head or running out of fuel ends the run.
Tips and strategy
- Upgrade the fuel tank before the engine. More power without more range just strands you further from home.
- Tap the brake in mid-air to bring the nose down before landing — a flat landing keeps momentum, a nose-up landing loses it all.
- Do not chase every coin. Reversing back up a hill for a small pickup burns more fuel than the coin is worth.
- On steep climbs, back up and take a run at it rather than crawling — crawling uphill at full throttle is where most flips happen.
Hill Climb — frequently asked questions
Is Hill Climb free to play?
Yes. Hill Climb is completely free to play on PixGaming, with no purchase, subscription or trial period. You do not need an account to start.
Do I need to download Hill Climb?
No. Hill Climb runs directly in your web browser as an HTML5 game. There is no installer, plugin or launcher — press play and it loads in a few seconds.
Can I play Hill Climb on mobile?
Yes. Hill Climb runs on phones, tablets and desktop browsers. The game opens full-screen on touch devices so the controls have room to work.
What are the controls for Hill Climb?
Hill Climb is played with the right arrow or D to accelerate and the left arrow or A to brake. The full control scheme is listed in the How to play section above.
What should you upgrade first in Hill Climb?
The fuel tank, then suspension. Engine power without range leaves you stranded far from the next fuel can, and better suspension prevents the bounces that cause most flips.
How do you stop flipping over in Hill Climb?
Use the two controls to rotate the vehicle in mid-air — the accelerator rotates you backwards and the brake rotates you forwards. Tapping the brake before landing brings the nose down for a flat, momentum-preserving touchdown.
