About Fruit Ninja
Fruit Ninja is a free arcade slicing game in which fruit is launched into the air and you swipe across the screen to cut it before it falls. Bombs are thrown in alongside the fruit, and slicing one ends the game instantly — so the challenge is cutting as much as possible while keeping your blade away from the explosives.
The scoring rewards greed. A single swipe that cuts three or more fruits registers as a combo and pays a bonus far larger than the individual pieces, which pushes you towards long, sweeping cuts across the whole screen — exactly the kind of swipe most likely to catch a bomb. That tension between the safe short cut and the lucrative long one is the entire game.
In Classic mode you get three lives, lost by letting fruit fall uncut, so you cannot simply wait for clean opportunities. Arcade mode removes the lives and gives you sixty seconds with special bananas that freeze time, double your score or throw a frenzy of fruit at you, which turns the game into a pure combo-chasing exercise. Zen mode strips out bombs entirely for players who just want to practise their swipe accuracy.
How to play Fruit Ninja
Swipe across the screen with your mouse or finger to slice any fruit your blade passes through. Cut three or more fruits in a single swipe to score a combo bonus. Avoid touching the bombs, which look like dark spheres with lit fuses. In Classic mode, letting three fruits fall uncut ends the game.
Tips and strategy
- Swipe in horizontal sweeps across the middle of the screen. Fruit spends most of its arc there, so a flat cut catches more of it than a vertical one.
- Stop your swipe short rather than lifting off near a bomb — releasing mid-screen is safer than following through past it.
- In Arcade mode, save your frenzy banana for a moment when the screen is already busy so the combo multiplier compounds.
- Cut fruit at the top of its arc where it hangs almost still, rather than chasing it on the way down.
