Five Nights at Freddy's is a free survival horror game in which you work a night shift as a security guard at a pizza restaurant, watching animatronic characters through security cameras. You cannot move from your office — your only tools are the camera feed, two doors and a limited power supply that everything you do drains.

The design is a resource puzzle wrapped in a horror game. Checking cameras, closing a door or turning on a light all consume power, and running out before 6am leaves you defenceless in the dark. That forces a rhythm: check just enough to know where the animatronics are, and close a door only when you are sure something is at it.

Each character behaves differently. One moves only when you are not watching, another responds to how often you check a specific camera, and a third requires a light check at your office door rather than a camera. Learning those individual patterns is the actual progression — the nights get harder because the characters become more active, not because new mechanics appear.

Monitor the security cameras to track where each animatronic is. Close the left or right door when one is directly outside your office, and check the door lights to confirm before committing power to a door. Survive from midnight to 6am on each night without running out of power.
