About Eggy Car
Eggy Car is a free physics driving game in which you drive a small car across rolling hills with an egg balanced loosely in the back. The car handles easily; the egg does not. Any sharp acceleration, hard brake or steep drop sends it rolling out and cracks it, ending the run instantly.
The genius of the design is that the difficulty lives entirely in a thing you cannot directly control. Your inputs move the car, but what matters is the egg's momentum relative to the car, so the correct driving style is almost the opposite of what a hill-climbing game normally rewards: gentle throttle, early braking, and cresting hills slowly enough that the descent does not throw the egg forward.
Distance is the score, and fuel cans along the route keep the run alive, which creates the central tension — the fuel you need is often positioned just past a steep drop that would cost you the egg. How to play Eggy Car
Use the accelerator and brake to drive right across the hills. Keep the egg seated in the back of the car by accelerating and braking gently, especially over crests and into dips. Collect fuel cans to extend the run and coins to unlock new cars. The run ends when the egg falls out and breaks, or when you run out of fuel.
Tips and strategy
- Brake before the crest of a hill, not after it. The egg is thrown forward on the descent, and slowing down once you are already tipping over is too late.
- Feather the throttle on climbs. Full acceleration pitches the car back and rolls the egg straight out of the rear.
- When the egg starts oscillating, coast in neutral for a moment and let it settle rather than trying to counter-steer it.
- Take fuel cans that sit on flat ground and skip ones perched past a sharp drop — running out of fuel is a much cheaper failure than cracking the egg.
